Paperless Billing FAQs

Why is Watercare introducing paperless bills?

We are introducing paperless bills for several reasons:

  • In response to customer requests for paperless bills

  • To provide customers who live overseas with a quicker delivery mechanism for their bill

  • To provide customers with a more environmentally responsible billing solution

  • To help reduce Watercare’s administration costs

  • To offer customers the same service that they receive from other utilities and large organisations

 

What are the benefits of receiving my bill by email?

There are many benefits to receiving your bill by email:

  • You can securely access your Watercare bill from any computer in the world

  • You won’t need to worry about storing or filing your bill

  • It’s easier to retrieve electronically stored bills

  • Electronic bills save paper and help the environment

  • There is no need to contact Watercare to request a copy of a bill

  • It’s easy for landlords to forward bills to tenants

  • You will receive your bill quicker than if it is sent by post

 

Can I view previous Watercare invoices online?

Yes. eWatercare allows you to view your bills and payment history for the past two years.

 

When will I receive my first paperless bill?

The exact date that you receive your paperless bill will depend on your billing cycle. To access the paperless bill facility you need to register. The paperless bill will look exactly the same as the paper bill.

 

How long before the due date will I receive my paperless bill?

You will receive your paperless bill two weeks before the due date. You can pay for your paperless bill using the same method of payment as for your paper bill.

 

If I opt for eWatercare will I still receive my bill by post?

No. If you choose to receive your water bill by email we will send your bill, and any reminder notices, by email.

 

Is eWatercare a secure service?

Yes. When you sign up to receive paperless bills, your email address will be verified.

 

If I delete my paperless bill can I get another copy?

Yes. Just contact us and we will email your bill to you.

 

Why haven’t I received my paperless bill?

There are several reasons why you may have not received your paperless bill:

  • We may have your email address entered incorrectly in our system. Contact us to check what email address we have listed for you.

  • Your internet connection may have been temporarily unavailable.

  • Your email program may have filtered your paperless bill email as SPAM. Please check your “Junk” folder and/or your SPAM filtering rules.

  • Your email quota may have been reached. You will need to delete any unwanted mail messages.

  • One of your filters could be directing the email into a specific folder.

 

Can I go back to paper bills if I don’t like getting them by email?

Yes. If you decide you want to revert to paper bills you can opt out of receiving paperless bills or contact us to arrange this.
