Connections to the water and wastewater systems within Auckland must be carried out by an approved contractor. This does not prevent a contractor from constructing new water or wastewater pipelines under the supervision of a consultant engineer, provided the plans have been approved by Watercare. However, only approved contactors are permitted to make the connection to the existing system.
