Resources for Teachers

Watercare offers an excellent range of free, helpful educational programmes and resources to support teaching about a number of water-related topics.

 

New entrants upwards

Stormwater – Learn about the impact that humans have on their environment. Understand the difference between stormwater and wastewater. Find out how rivers and lakes are formed with hands-on experiments. 

Freshwater bug lesson. Learn about the bugs that live in freshwater streams and how they tell you about the quality of the water. Add on a field trip to your local waterway to find out what’s living there.

 

Year 3 upwards

Drinking Water – a lesson and experiments. Find out where your water comes from and how it is cleaned

 

Year 5 upwards

Wastewater – a lesson and experiments. Find out where our used and dirty water goes and the processes it undergoes before entering the sea.

 

Years 5-8 

Adopt A stream is a hands-on science programme, containing resources for the study and analysis of a local waterway.
