North Shore Watermain Relocation

The watermain that supplies water to one third of Auckland’s North Shore is currently located with the SH1 motorway corridor. This motorway is being widened as part of the Victoria Park Tunnel project, which provides an opportunity to move this critical asset out of the motorway corridor and away from other major, regionally important infrastructure (such as power, gas and telecommunications assets).   Relocating the watermain also minimises the risk of interruptions to water supply.
