This section of the website allows local board members and members of the community to keep up to date with projects and activities we have underway in this particular local board area.

Wastewater from private residences and from non-domestic sites goes into our network and is pumped to Māngere wastewater treatment plant for treatment and disposal. The main wastewater pipe through the area is the Western Interceptor. The wastewater journey begins at the Mt Roskill branch line that comes down from the north and joins the Western Interceptor at Richardson Road. From the west, wastewater flows from New Lynn into the Western Interceptor through to Māngere wastewater treatment plant. Lynfield pump station pumps wastewater via the Lynfield branch pipe which intersects with the Western Interceptor at Haycock Avenue. The Hillsborough pump station transports wastewater from the east via the Onehunga wastewater branch line that joins the Western Interceptor at Hoskins Avenue and flows to the Māngere treatment plant.

Drinking water for the area comes via Huia 1 watermain to Three Kings and Big King reservoirs before it is transorted to Mt Roskill reservoir. Water reservoirs are placed along the network to ensure supply during times of peak demand and smooth flows during the day. From Mt Roskill reservoir, water flows to the Hillsborough Road 1 and 2 booster pump stations.
