What’s happening?

We are upgrading the Māngere Wastewater Treatment Plant and improving our biological nutrient removal process. This project is part of an upgrade of the Māngere Wastewater Treatment Plant.

The centrepiece is a facility that uses bacteria to remove nitrogen and phosphorus from the wastewater stream. High levels of these nutrients in waterways can harm the environment.
