Residents in central-west Auckland asked to conserve water due to burst watermain

2/12/2019

Our team is working on isolating a burst watermain in Arch Hill Scenic Reserve, Grey Lynn that ruptured early this morning.

Our contractors arrived on site within an hour of being notified at 6.45am this morning. They will begin repairs once the broken section of pipe has been isolated. Several water valves are located along Tay Street, Great North Rd and Ivanhoe Road. Traffic management is in place.

No water outages are expected, but residents over a wide area of central-west Auckland may notice reduced water pressure whilst the repairs are underway.

The 550mm diameter watermain is one of the bigger water pipes in the CBD and we anticipate repairs could take up to 24 hours. We ask residents to please reduce water consumption whilst this emergency work takes place.

Updates are available via our social media page, or click here to access the outages page of our website. On the outages page, please select 'list' and scroll down to 'Tay Street'.
