Meet senior operations engineer Nicole Ahotaha

Hear from senior operations engineer Nicole Ahotaha about what she loves most about working at Watercare:

You know you work for Watercare when…

You know you work at Watercare when you have really cool work stories. When you're driving around, when you're pointing out all the projects and the jobs that you've been doing.

Yeah, telling your friends and family who probably don't have much interest. That's when you know you work at Watercare.

Have you had a moment where you were like, “they really backed me on that?”

A Moment where I thought they backed me on that be pretty much everyday. When they back your capability and they just let you do what you have to do without too much input.

How does it make you feel that you have made decisions that matter?

It’s rewarding as well. Knowing that the job that I do is directly impacting people in a good way makes me feel like this job is my purpose.

What advice would you give to people wanting to apply for a role at Watercare?

For someone who wants to apply for a role at Watercare, I would say go for it. The people are great. Whatever team you get into, everyone is friendly with everyone.

How would you describe the culture at Watercare?

There's a good culture at Watercare you know and there's good pathways could development. You know you always get acknowledged with all the work you do, that's not why we do it.

But yeah, I’d say just go for it. It’s a good place to work.
