Before you apply
If your project is complex, you may want to contact us to meet with our engineers, planners or other staff to discuss your design. Charges may apply.
Prepare your engineering plan
To ensure your application proceeds smoothly, your application to Council must include, but is not limited to, the following documents:

A copy of your approved resource consent application

A plan showing your proposed water and/or wastewater network extensions or modifications
-
Long-section engineering drawings
- Design compliance statements CS1/CS2 (see below)

Subdivisions of 10 lots or more, or any type of multi-storey development
In addition to documents above, you must ALSO provide:

New Zealand Fire Service fire risk classification

Sprinkler demand calculation (if applicable)

Peak water demand calculation

Peak wet-weather flow calculation for wastewater, including existing flows and potential future flows from upstream of the catchment

Hydrant flow test results and hydrant location map
Design compliance statements CS1 and CS2
All extensions or modifications to our water or wastewater network must comply with our engineering standards. Your application to the Council must include:
Please identify any designs that do not comply with our standards. You will need to explain why they do not comply and what design solutions you propose.

Approval
If your proposed network extension or modification is feasible, Auckland Council will grant approval, which includes our acceptance of the engineering plan and any conditions.
